Description

I have called this Aatma or the soul as I have used the golden colour extensively, which is related to the sun or our soul.

It is adapted from a old Mandala painting in Sri Lanka. A lotus of 16 petals surrounds the Bindu at the centre, 5 circles – 3 with floral design and 2 plane ones, surround the lotus. The first floral design has 48 petals, the second has 24 and the last one has 12 petals. The flowers are selfless offerings to the Supreme Being.

The 16 petals are also known as Sarva Ashapurak Chakra, which fulfils all your hopes and materializes your expectations. The 16 petals represent 5 elements, 10 indriyas and mind.

The 5 circles represent the five elements. The 12, 24, 48 petals lead to a 3 or a multiple of 3 number. 3 denotes the holy trinity and perfection.

Flowers are considered selfless as they produce beauty, fragrance and positivity. In most cultures, flowers are offered to the divine as a selfless offering.
