Sri Durga Yantra

According to Harish Johari, meditation on the saffron colour of Durga’s Yantra fills you with serenity and purity. The nine-pointed star is spectacular and attractive, and is visually the most powerful yantra after the Sri Yantra.

The Bhopura is in the colour of sunlight because Durga is the divine radiance coming from a female form. Meditating on this colour brings peace and fills the meditator with magnetic energy. The 8-petal lotus represents the octave of existence. They represent love, mercy, sacrifice, penance, selfless service, devotion, faith and detachment. These help us to evolve and get away from suffering. The 3 rings represents the three phases of life – past, present and future.

The nine-pointed star created by 4 triangles super-imposed over one another represents the 9 shaktis. 3 triangles are upward pointing and represents Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva – the creator, preserver and destroyer. The fourth downward pointing triangle represents the body of light as unified Divine Force. The overlapping of these 4 triangles, creates another triangle in the middle, it points upward and represents the Divine Mother, whose each side is coming from the 3 divine forces.

The centre of the yantra and the central triangle is the Bindu, which represents the Divine Mother herself.

I have used very warm tones to represent motherly love and compassion, when a human, at any age feels sad, thinks of his Mother first and foremost, and wants to take refuge in the lap of his/her mother. Meditating on this Yantra gives you divine energy from Mother.
